Here is an Update to my TTY project.

I have now replaced the hardwired point to point wiring "Pcb" with and actual PCB, ver 3.0

 This is a short intro to my TTY Teletype project ( addition)  to my Cosmac Elf 1802 family. Donor # 1 typewriter,  A Remington No7, circa 1900, this one was rusty and covered in soot, must have been involved in a fire at some time, possibly hosed down, the wood bits where staring to rot. Donor # 2 typewriter, A Sharp PA-3000 from 1990s, daisywheel print, no display, limited character buffer memory. Mashup result, ( not fully completed) as you can see the keyboard is 1/2 there. The blinking lights on the keytops reflect what character, digit is been printed by either the computer or the operator, also shown in the display. My Cosmac 1802 build

 Back in 1976 Popular  Electronics published an article about an RCA CPU called CDP1802, COSMAC ELF. This was to be the entry point to computers for me. Had fun building it on a perf board and point to point wire soldering.   Below my collection of  "1802 bibles". Each one of these magazines had 1802 projects/ programs/ or  schematics. Fast forward some 4 decades and now I'm re-visiting that humble little computer and super sizing it a bit. Here is my latest incarnation the Steam Punked  COSMAC VIP - ELF project.   What is it?  Its made up of  5 parts, The MAIN cabinet, The Glass TUBE Display, The BCD-HEX keyboard, The ROTARY HEX keyboard and Audio Speaker (horn), and finally the VIDEO CRT display unit. The main electronics are made up of  custom made PCB 4" x 4" stacked on a 5" x 10" motherboard. They are located in the MAIN cabinet, ( the unit with the 8 blue 7 segment VFD displays). Above are the main ELECTRONICS located in the cabinet shown below.

 Tachyscope 1.0                                                               June 2023 In this Blog I will go through the complete build process of my Persistence Of Vision project I called " TACHYSCOPE" To begin with, Tachyscope was an early animated-picture machine circa 1880, refer to Google for image of it.
